Source Summary:Athletic Hall of Fame, 1964
On February 15th, 1964, the Annual Awards banquet held the Athletic Hall of Fame at Dinkler Plaza Hotel. Three distinguished athletes were recognized in this source: W.A. Alexander, Ty Cobb, and Bobby Jones. Though Alexander retired to the athletic director's chair in 1945, he still remained as an excellent and diverse athlete, earning almost every possible honor in his football career. Cobbs was known specifically for his baseball profession, and Jones for his golf. Cobbs ended up playing 3,033 games specifically for Georgia Tech, and Jones ended up winning the British Open, British Amateur, US open, and the US Amateur. All three athletes have been living legends and coaches in the Georgia Tech athletic department.
