The Hopkins dormitory is a mixed-gender (by floor) dormitory located at 711 Techwood Dr NW, Atlanta, GA. The residence hall was built in 1961; the last renovation to the building occurred in 1995 [1].

Building Details

The Hopkins dormitory forms a quad with the Field, Perry, Matheson, and Hanson residence halls. The first and third floors are for female residents, and the second and fourth floors are for male residents. It features 130 spaces spread over four floors of traditional style housing (two residents per room with a shared bathroom on each floor). Additionally, there is one quad style room (four residents per room ) on each floor of the building.

Amenities

As with the majority of traditional-style campus residences, each room is furnished with:

  • An extra-long twin bed
  • A desk
  • A desk chair
  • A wardrobe
  • A dresser

The aforementioned beds are height-adjustable and can be lofted depending on resident preferences[2].

Each floor features a lounge with a tv and furniture (tables, chairs, couches, etc.). The first and third floors feature kitchens with a refrigerator, oven, stove, ice-maker, sink, and at least one microwave. The building offers vending machines and a laundry facility in the basement. The nearest exercise floor is in the nearby Perry residence hall[3].

Transportation

The nearest Stinger Bus stop is located at the intersection of Techwood Drive and Bobby Dodd Way, and the nearest Tech Trolley stop is located at the intersection of Techwood Drive and 5th Street [4]. The nearest MARTA station is the North Avenue station.
